JCB Sun Gear - ORIGINAL

Original sun gear for the wheel hub planetary final drive. This component is mounted directly on the drive axle shaft and transmits torque to the planetary gears (pinions), initiating the process of rotational reduction and increasing the driving force to the machine's wheels.

  • Material and durability: Made of high-grade forged steel, subjected to advanced surface hardening. This ensures extreme resistance to shear forces and material fatigue when transmitting sudden impact loads.

Technical Advice: The sun gear is the component most exposed to wear when oil in the final drives is not changed regularly. If you notice "chipping" on the edges of the sun gear teeth during an inspection, it is essential to replace it along with the planetary gears. Leaving a worn sun gear in place will cause rapid destruction of new planetary gears and may lead to a cracked hub housing. During installation, ensure that the axle shaft spline is clean and free of burrs.
