Workshop Technical Tip: When replacing a final drive in machines of this class, the most common mistake is ignoring the case drain line. Even a minor blockage in this line can cause a rapid pressure build-up inside the hydraulic motor housing, leading to the immediate blowout of the shaft seal. Before the initial startup, ensure the entire unit is primed with clean hydraulic oil. Also, remember to change the gear oil in the final drive itself after the first 50 operating hours (break-in period).
