High-quality upper kingpin sliding bearing bush by AM (Aftermarket) for JCB telescopic handlers. This is a precision component of the steering and axle system, fitted in the upper bore of the steering knuckle where it acts as a plain bearing for the kingpin. Its purpose is to guide the kingpin with minimal friction, absorb lateral axle loads and ensure precise, play-free rotation of the steering knuckle during cornering. Workshop Technical Tip: Worn kingpin bushes show up as noticeable wheel wobble when pushed up-down or sideways, a metallic knock over rough ground and a vague, imprecise steering feel. Always replace the full set — upper and lower together — uneven wear between a new and old bush will rapidly destroy the new one. Bushes are pressed into the knuckle bore with an interference fit — never drive them in with a hammer directly; always use a press or a correctly sized driver. Before fitting a new kingpin, measure its diameter for ovality — a kingpin outside tolerance will destroy new bushes within hours. After assembly, grease the nipples with fresh grease and steer lock-to-lock several times to distribute grease evenly through the bushes.
