JCB 4HK1 6HK1 Exhaust Valve Seat

Technical Advice: Exhaust seats in 4HK1/6HK1 engines operate at high temperatures; therefore, their correct installation is critical. Installation should be performed using the shrink-fit method (cooling the seat while simultaneously heating the cylinder head). After seating the component, angular machining (milling) and precise exhaust valve lapping are required. Improper installation can result in the seat dropping out during operation, leading to catastrophic damage to the piston and turbocharger. A vacuum leak test is recommended after machining is complete.
