Workshop Technical Advice: Swing system issues—such as jerking, excessive noise, or noticeable play when stopping the upper structure—often stem from wear in the planetary gear set. When replacing the set, it is mandatory to check the swing gearbox oil for metal shavings. Contaminated oil acts like an abrasive paste, destroying new components in a very short time. During installation, ensure the vertical swing shaft bearings are in good condition, as their wear is the most common cause of damage to the planetary gears themselves.
