Workshop Technical Advice: When replacing the swing motor, it is crucial to check the condition of the slewing ring and clean out the old grease from the gear tub. Before installation, you must strictly verify that the case drain line is completely clear – a blocked drain line will cause pressure to build up inside the housing, immediately blowing out the shaft seal! It is also highly recommended to change the hydraulic oil and filters. This prevents the new unit from being contaminated and damaged by metal shavings left in the system from the old, failed motor.
