Workshop Technical Advice: The ring gear works directly with the planetary gears (satellites) – when replacing it, carefully check the condition of the planetary gear teeth. Even minor chipping on the satellites can quickly damage a new ring gear. During cover installation, ensure the ring gear is properly seated and the contact surface with the final drive housing is clean and degreased. It is also recommended to check the permeability of the breather in the cover to prevent pressure build-up, which could damage the seals.
