Workshop Technical Tip: When replacing the trunnion, always renew the seal (907/08300) and tapered bearing (904/06700) at the same time - rebuilding the knuckle without replacing the seals and bearing is false economy. After fitting, set the bearing pre-load to JCB specification using the correct shims - too little pre-load causes hub play and uneven tyre wear, too much causes bearing overheating and premature failure. Tighten to the correct torque and check the seals for leaks after assembly.
