The N (Narrow) symbol defines the width of the internal tooth guide of the track. It is a technical parameter that determines whether the track will stay axially aligned on the track rollers. Proper selection of the index (N or W) prevents the track from de-tracking (falling off) while driving in difficult terrain.
Most cheap replacements have a joining point (seam) in the steel cords, which is their weakest structural point. Continuous Steel Cord technology eliminates this weak spot, making the track much more resistant to extreme overloads and sudden impacts from the tensioner cylinder.
