High-quality mechanical swing reduction gearbox designed for JCB tracked and wheeled excavators. It is a multi-stage planetary gearbox responsible for transferring the drive from the hydraulic motor to the swing ring gear. Thanks to precision-engineered gears with high surface hardness, this component ensures smooth movement of the upper carriage and provides the massive holding force necessary when working on slopes and during precise grading operations.

Workshop Technical Tip: Before installing a new reduction gearbox, it is mandatory to check the condition of the swing ring gear teeth. If the ring gear has chipping or excessive wear, the new pinion shaft will suffer premature failure. Remember to fill the gearbox with fresh gear oil after installation (as per JCB specifications, usually 80W90) and verify the breather/vent is clear to avoid blowing out the seals due to rising internal pressure during operation.
