OEM-quality hydraulic swing motor (axial piston) for JCB 808X Series mini and midi excavators. This component is the upper section of the swing drive (without the planetary gearbox) and is responsible for precise superstructure rotation. The motor features an integrated valve block controlling soft start and braking, plus a hydraulic parking brake. The construction is designed to withstand the heavy overloads that occur when working on slopes and during rapid work cycles. Workshop Technical Tip: When replacing the swing motor without gearbox, it is critical to check the condition of the splines on the planetary gearbox input shaft. If the socket is worn, the new motor may fail quickly. Always pre-fill the motor housing with clean hydraulic oil before the first start (through the case drain port). Running dry even for a few seconds can cause irreversible seizure of the piston bores. Also check that the drain (leak-off) line is clear - a blocked drain port causes pressure build-up in the housing and destroys the shaft seal.
