Workshop Tip: The steering cylinder in wheeled machines and advanced tracked configurations is constantly exposed to severe mechanical impacts (e.g., when driving over obstacles) and external contaminants (mud, sand, water). Before installing the seals, it is essential to check that the 45 mm piston rod is not bent and is free from chips or scoring on its chrome plating – even minimal burrs will instantly destroy the new wiper lip. Since the steering system is directly responsible for operational safety, we recommend thoroughly flushing the 90 mm cylinder to remove any remnants of old, degraded oil, and conducting the installation under strictly clean conditions. Lubricate the new rings with fresh hydraulic oil before seating them.
