Description

JCB Final Drive Housing (Wheel Hub) - ORIGINAL

Original planetary final drive housing (hub/carrier). An element of drive axles. It ensures the proper seating and protection of internal planetary gear components (gears, planetary pinions, pins), supporting the smooth and trouble-free transmission of massive torque directly to the machine's wheels.

Technical Features:

  • High mechanical strength: A massive casting made of high-quality steel alloy guarantees resistance to cracking and deformation even under the machine's extreme working loads.
  • Seating precision: Factory fitting of the planetary pin sockets and hub bearings prevents vibrations and premature wear of the mating transmission gears.
  • Protection and sealing: Perfectly milled contact surfaces for cassette seals and O-rings guarantee that the gear oil is kept inside the final drive, protecting the system from external contaminants.

Technical Advice: A final drive housing failure is very often the result of "grinding" damaged planetary gears, the disintegration of the hub bearing, or driving without the proper oil level in the axle. When replacing a damaged housing, you must very carefully verify the condition of the remaining components: the axle shaft, sun gear, ring gear teeth, and above all, the large tapered roller hub bearings. It is mandatory to use a new hub cassette seal (prevents leakage onto the brake drum/disc) and a new O-ring. After assembling everything, fill the final drive with a dedicated gear oil matched to your axle's specification (e.g., with an LS - Limited Slip additive, if the machine has such axles).
