JCB Central Drive Shaft (Long) 30T / 20 Splines - 20/951592

High-quality central drive shaft (sun gear), designed for final drive planetary gearboxes in heavy JCB crawler excavators. This component is responsible for transmitting drive to the planetary satellite gears within the reduction system. Thanks to precision-engineered teeth and the use of hardened alloy steel, the shaft exhibits exceptional resistance to torsion and abrasive wear.

Workshop Technical Advice: The central (sun) shaft works directly with the planetary satellite gears. When replacing this component, it is essential to check the condition of the satellite gears—if their teeth are already worn, they will quickly damage the new shaft. Also, remember to inspect the condition of the splines in the travel motor socket or coupling. Regular oil changes in the final drive (typically every 1000 operating hours) help prevent the formation of metal shavings, which are the primary cause of sun gear tooth erosion.
