JCB Final Drive Reduction Set (3rd Stage) - 05/903828

Complete third reduction set (3rd stage planetary gears with carrier/cage) designed for heavy-duty JCB final drives. This is the final stage of the planetary gearbox, which transfers the highest torque directly to the final drive housing and the drive sprocket. Due to the massive forces acting at this point, the set is made of specially reinforced alloy steel, subjected to multi-stage heat treatment to ensure maximum resistance to cracking and material fatigue.

Workshop Technical Advice: The third reduction stage is where the greatest forces in the entire final drive are concentrated. Failure of this component is most often associated with damage to the internal ring gear of the housing. When installing a new set, it is mandatory to inspect the condition of the teeth inside the final drive housing. If the ring gear has chips or signs of material "pitting," the new reduction set will be destroyed in a very short time. Always change the oil for fresh oil after the first 50 operating hours following a rebuild to remove any micro-shavings from the breaking-in components.
