JCB Final Drive Breather / Plug - AZERI PARTS

Breather plug by AZERI PARTS, designed for planetary gearboxes (final drives) in JCB tracked excavators. This component plays a role in regulating the pressure inside the final drive housing. During intensive operation, gearbox components heat up, causing gas pressure to rise – the breather allows for their safe discharge while simultaneously blocking dust, mud, and moisture from entering the lubrication system.

Specifications and Technical Parameters:

  • Type: Threaded plug with an integrated breather valve.
  • Application: Travel gearboxes (final drives) in tracked undercarriages.
  • Function: Internal pressure equalization, protection of mechanical seals.

Technical Advice: A functional breather is the cheapest protection for your final drive. If the valve becomes blocked by dried mud or old grease, the rising internal pressure in the gearbox may push out the main seals, leading to oil leaks and rapid seizure of expensive gears. It is recommended to regularly clean the area around the plug and check the valve's functionality during every undercarriage inspection. If traces of oil escaping directly through the breather are noticed, the final drive oil level and seal condition should be checked immediately.
