OEM-quality axial piston hydraulic swing motor (upper swing drive assembly) for JCB 85Z, 86C, 90Z and 100C Series mini excavators. This is the upper section of the swing drive assembly — the hydraulic motor that pairs with the planetary swing gearbox 336/E4311. It is responsible for precise superstructure positioning and safe braking of the swing motion even under full bucket load. Equipped with an advanced valve block featuring an integrated relief valve, brake timer valve and by-pass circuit — eliminating jolts during swing start and stop. OEM quality — perfect fit and performance identical to the original factory component.

Workshop Technical Tip: The integrated brake timer and by-pass valves eliminate jolts during swing stop — if the machine was jerking when the swing braked before failure, the cause may have been a worn valve block within the motor itself. When replacing the motor, always verify that the drain (leak-off) port is clear and unobstructed — a blocked drain port causes rapid internal pressure build-up, destroying the shaft seal or cracking the motor housing. Pre-fill the motor housing with clean hydraulic oil through the ports before the first start — running dry even for a few seconds permanently damages the pistons and valve plate. Also inspect the condition of the planetary swing gearbox 336/E4311 — a worn gearbox will rapidly destroy a new motor.
